Xbox Madden Scores a Touchdown, while you Score Your Rival’s Cash

You may need a crash course in football video game history, if hearing about all the innovations and improvements that Xbox Madden 10 offers still hasn't moved you. Yeah, it could be a bit cruel to constantly bag on older games as a means to elevate today's football video games. Then again, those side-by-side comparisons help underscore the fact that Xbox Madden 10 is a truly top-notch football video game. Certainly, there was a huge, untapped market for football video games, when the first generation of console games made their debut. But the catch was, the power of the early video game consoles didn't exactly equal the imaginations and desires of those early hardcore gamers, so everyone had to settle for less. If you've ever seen old ads for this one, the creators truly believed that it had "all the excitement" of the real deal. The players themselves have closer resemblance to space aliens than members of a football team. Just needed to get that one off my chest. And if the picture has you cringing, you can only imagine what the gameplay is like. Characters started flashing and blinking, thanks to the limited memory of the early game consoles and cartridges. Sound effects didn't fare much better, with the "spectators" sounding more like a car with a busted muffler. As you'd probably guessed, there wasn't a scrolling screen for this one. Soon, the first round of the console wars would begin, and the competition created a football video game of their own. It had made the necessary innovations to make sports video games some serious business - the characters were animated better, without the same graphical setbacks, and this time, there was a scrolling screen, a necessity for football video games. It wasn't there yet, though. No doubt, it was a real exciting time for hardcore gamers, but there was still a ways to go before football video games would dominate the industry. Several years would pass before that came to pass. The next level in football video games had been reached, and still we're seeing a following for this one. If you were to ask a gamer from the 90s what their favorite sports video game was, this one would crack the top 5 list. Why this went supernova isn't hard to figure out - with actual offensive and defensive strategies, they brought in a new level of realism. This was the ultimate step up in football video games for a long time, so gamers really proclaimed this one the best football game out there, year after year. With the online revival, today's gamers are getting a taste of yesteryear - and loving it. While worthy of praise, it still trails in the distance from Xbox Madden 10. With the great strides in gaming, football video games have reached a level worthy of the fans. Guess it's a waste of time to do too much putting down of the other, less sophisticated football video games. We think you understand. Those games had their weaknesses, but if it weren't for them, we wouldn't be playing Xbox Madden 10 today, so they did get the ball rolling. Of course, Xbox Madden 10 has really kicked this one over the goal posts, which has the video game world pretty pleased. The reviews are as positive as the reaction from the gamers themselves - it's a hit with the fans as well as the video game sites. "Realistic and enjoyable" are comments you'll see during most Xbox Madden 10 reviews. EA Sports didn't even come close to fumbling the ball with Xbox Madden 10, that's for sure. Don't let the naysayers shape your opinion - Xbox Madden 10 is a game for the ages. Not to put down any other Xbox sports video games, which have certainly earned their solid rep, but Xbox Madden 10 is just the best of the best. With Xbox Madden 10, the debate over the best football video game can be laid to rest. Better still, the true gamers know that this is the arena which will separate the wheat from the chaff, after you play video games for money.

Now, Xbox Madden 10 fanatics can throw down the gauntlet and play video games for money. After you've really given yourself a crash course and learned all the rules, you'll score touchdown after touchdown - and make off with your rival's bankroll as well.
