Protect the net in NHL 10

So you are the slickest Xbox 360 and PS3 NHL 10 player, and you've been putting all your rivals on ice. You're a hardcore player who likes the thrill of sports video game battles. You know how to brawl with the best of them, and now you're ready to show the video game world that when it comes to Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 NHL 10, you skate to victory every time.

Of course, there's plenty of intimidation going on and with your rivals trying to talk you down, it's definitely time to whip out the console and look to dominate on the ice. But now that we have your confidence and ego boosted to the next level, it's also time to sit back and think about ways to improve your game. Sure, you're pretty good, but it takes the best to be the best, especially if you want to take down your NHL 10 opponents on both the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. With that in mind, don't talk a better game than you can play, because nobody wants to be the man that has no plan. If you do that, you're liable to hit the ice with a full head of steam but end up on your backside, courtesy of your aggressive opponent. Most importantly, don't be too overconfident, because all that will get you is a quick lesson on fundamentals and a frustrating gaming experience. Instead, it's just fine to be confident, but make sure you have an idea of what you want to carry out each game. Your opponent might have an ego that is just as big, so the time is now to make them shut their mouth. The best way to accomplish that is by playing tight defense, which can be accomplished by mastering the NHL 10 controls for whichever console you own (PS3 or Xbox 360). Once you have your thumbs and fingers all ready to go, it's time to devise a plan that works.

Look, don't follow your NHL 10 tournament rivals around the ice, and especially avoid chasing the man with the puck behind his own net. The best way to do this is to sit back and play some kind of neutral zone trap, making the opposing team skate into your wall of players with absolutely no room. In this scenario, they will be forced to dump the puck into your zone, where you can gain possession. See? Easy and simple is the way to go. Of course, if you'd like to be a little more adventurous, why not try blocking some shots. Like they say, "if you don't shoot, you can't score," and that also applies to any shots that don't reach your goaltender. By allowing your defenseman to sacrifice is body for the good of the team, you will also be one step closer to claiming glory. You can also try lifting sticks, hooking or even slashing. Hey, if the ref does not see it, it didn't happen, right? Yes, PS3 and Xbox NHL 10 has done a solid job raising the bar of EA's popular series. And once you master some basic defense skills, you'll raise the bar of your rep in the video game world. Gaming can be intense, but we know you can handle it, so get out there and find sports video game tournaments for the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 and battle opponents from across the globe.
